Pomegranates are mentioned in Deuteronomy 8:8 of the Holy Bible as one of the foods found in the Promised Land, and pomegranate designs adorned the pillars of Solomon’s Temple. Today, these vibrant fruits are valued for their sweet-tart flavor and antioxidant plant compounds called polyphenols. Their juicy seeds provide fiber and can be enjoyed fresh or sprinkled over salads and breakfast dishes. Research also suggests that pomegranate juice may help lower blood pressure, although more studies are needed to confirm the effect (Old Oak Gardening YouTube channel)

Oranges and grapefruit may support long-term eye health by providing vitamin C and antioxidants that help protect eye tissues from oxidative stress. Both fruits also contain carotenoids associated with retinal health. However, citrus fruit does not necessarily improve eyesight or treat eye diseases. Experts recommend a varied diet, regular eye exams, UV [ultraviolet] protection and appropriate management of chronic conditions (Lao Động)

To have mastery of the site of freedom brings confidence like space into which space dissolves.” – The Venerated Enlightened Master Garab Dorje (vegetarian) (Garab Dorje’s Final Testament from the Vima Nyingtik)
Previously in Part 1 of this two-part series on Ryan McCully’s near-death experience, Ryan shared his experience during emergency surgery following suspected spider bites. He described an ocean of souls and a profound sense of peace before finding himself outside his body in the hospital waiting room. Later, his recollection of a conversation between his girlfriend and his aunt convinced his girlfriend that he had witnessed it while in surgery.
Earlier, while still out of his body during surgery, Ryan had felt he could choose to stay in that peaceful place but understood he needed to return. Coming back to his body proved strange and difficult— he woke sooner than expected, startling the recovery-room nurses, and described operating his own body like trying to use chopsticks instead of his hands. His eyes couldn’t tolerate the light, yet with them closed, he found he could still see the room and the people in it with what he called his “soul’s eyes,” while half in and half out of his body. After nurses wheeled him out to his family, Ryan still felt partly outside his body. It was in that in-between state
that he says his deceased grandmother appeared with a message for his grieving aunt. So, my grandma talked to me, who had passed a long time ago. She showed up. She told me to tell her daughter, my aunt that was in the room, that she didn’t want her to be sad anymore for her mom. She told me to tell her that she doesn’t want her up at night, crying for her anymore, that it’s OK, and she’s OK. And my aunt told me that no one ever knew that she stayed up and was up at night, many times a week, crying for her mom. I never knew that. Ryan says the message brought his aunt greater peace and convinced her that he was communicating with her mother.
The experience left Ryan with a lasting sense of peace that he says goes deeper than words can capture. He still struggles at times and misses people he’s lost, but he no longer mourns them the way he once would have. Even when he needs to remind himself, he says he knows they still exist. I know they’re there, and I know that I’m going to be there, too, again. That certainty, he says, has made him a happier, more hopeful, more well-adjusted person— someone who now knows, rather than merely believes, that everything is going to be OK.
